I was cleaning the boat just befor the show start.
Jumped from pontoon to boat with the fresh water hose, slided on the storage cover with left foot and sticked the right in the steering wheel. When I took it out there was an extra knee on the lower leg and a lot of pain. With help of a lot of friends, they got me back to pontoon and I was picked up by ambulance. I am now back home with a hurting leg and huge amounts of boxes with pills and a recovering lenght of 3 months.
OK, I admit Marith asked me severel times to take the boat a bit closer to pontoon and I just proofed she was right
and yes I will learn

X-Yachts cup Bastad Sweden

Fredric and I was i Bastad for the x-Yachts cup event and had a lot of fun .32 boats with nearly as many world champions and famous crews represented.
So we felt very lucky and happy to win our class.
I am so used to explain why we did not win, so this situation felt very unusual, but I think I can get used to it.

Sweden Yachts 45 batteries
Thank you for email,
On the mastervolt panel, you can choose between the 12V system or the 24V system to see how they are charged.
Batteries use to last 5-6 years and start battery even longerLocation of batteries are 2 big batteries on each side of table center and the start battery are just outside of the nav seat under the floorboards.
I hope you have a good summer and a lot of joy,

Sweden Yachts draining problem
Jan, how are you ? Any progress on SY getting back up again ?
We have just come back from the Chesapeake Bay where we left the boat for the next year. She is up on the dry in Rock Hall. We had a fantastic 8 months of sailing with very few problems, and many compliments for the beautiful design.
I had one interesting problem : when my black water tank forward was blocked, I managed to open the blockage by taking off the hoses from the tank in the saillocker (the blockage was behind the open/close valve) but then the contents of the black water tank went into the saillocker. I thought they were flowing straight to the bilge so I could pump them out.
However, instead all black water ended up in the two floorlockers in the owner's cabin (one under the bed, the other where the speed and depth instruments are mounted). There was nothing flowing into the bilge, so I had to bail everything out manually.....
Should there not be holes that connect those two floorlockers in the owner's cabin, with the deepest bilge over the keel ? If there is such a connection, how can I reach it ? I have not been able to find anything, so de-blocking was impossible.
And related to that, a lot of black water got stuck in a pretty big central space between those two floor lockers (In front of mast, below floor). I could not reach it. Later, when the boat heeled over, it came streaming out into the lockers again and the cleaning had to start again.
Can you help to solve this mystery ?
Best regards,
"I know some boats have had this problem and the water should end up in bilge if the drain holes are drilles and not clogged"

Sweden Yachts engine problem
Hej
Swedish owner who got a nightmare problem with engine Volvo Penta 75 HP, where transmission have collapsed, ofcourse during a critical moment. This have happened severel times and Volvo Penta have taken respons. in all cases as far as I know.
Carl has also discovered LED light problem in bom from Nordic mast. Nordic mast has promissed to send new lights

Sweden Yachts 50 in trouble
It was a Sweden Yachts 50 that took part in ARC some years ago and during first night hit something in the water. They went back to Las Palmas and lifted boat and found damages on keel. The boat was repaired and crossed the Atlantic the year after.
I think you have reminded me of all terrible stories now?

Sweden Yachts 42 going down outside Azores
This is the report from www.noonsite.com 28 May.
The crew of the yacht Setantii, a 2004 Sweden 42 en route to Horta, Azores were successfully evacuated this morning (28 May 2010), following a collision with a submerged object 600 nautical miles west of the Azores.
Setantii, which was taking part in the ARC Europe transatlantic rally to Europe, called a MayDay after the collision severely damaged their steering, pushed the rudder up into the hull and caused water ingress. Falmouth MRCC received the MayDay and, in cooperation with MRCC Ponta Delgada (Azores), diverted the bulk carrier MV Esmeralda to assist. The ARC Europe yacht Gilly of London also altered course to assist the stricken yacht.
At approximately 0730UTC the four man crew of Setantii were successfully evacuated to the MV Esmeralda, which has now resumed course towards the United Kingdom.
The yacht has been abandoned and is sinking. Weather conditions at the time of the incident were NW 20 knots, gusting 25 knots with 2 to 3m seas. Jeremy Wyatt of event organisers World Cruising Club commented "We are relieved that the crew of Setantii are all now safe and would like to pass our thanks on to MRCC Falmouth and Ponta Delgada for their swift response."
The other yachts participating in ARC Europe are all on course for Horta, Azores with a fast passage expected.

Sweden Yachts 42 going down outside Azores
Yes I have heard the that a Sweden Yachts 42 was abandoned in Atlantic after rudder damage and heavaly leeking, this week. This boat took part in ARC a couple of years ago for the first time and have a bunch of skillfull sailors onboard.
And yes ther was a Sweden Yachts 42 abandoned some years ago, outside
Cap Verde. In this case the boat was realy rock hitted and fake repaired just before the ARC departure. Depending on insurance company trying to save money on behalf of risking life out in Atlantic. The surveyer vanished from earth and never found.
What has happened to Seatantie, I do not know yet, but there will be something extrodinary as it is a very good and secure construction.
